About Osteoporosis:Osteoporosis is a condition characterized by 'porous bones'. This means that the bone mass or bone mineral density is reduced and the bones are prone to fracture.
Osteoporosis generally happens when your body does not get enough dietary calcium or when the body is unable to absorb the calcium that is present in your diet. This hampers bone nutrition in the long run leading to fragile bones.
Additionally, with advancing age, calcium and phosphate from the bones may be re-absorbed (and hence moved) into the blood-stream further weakening the bones.
In such a scenario, a person is prone to develop a fracture even without getting an injury. Often, a person will develop a fracture before even knowing that he/she suffers from osteoporosis. The hips, spine and wrists are common sites for fracture to occur.
People at risk:Women over age 50 and men over 70 years of age are at higher risk for osteoporosis. Post-menopausal women in particular have a high risk for developing osteoporosis due to lack of estrogen hormone.
How OPOA can help?In present-day lifestyle, where diet is of poor quality, pollution is aplenty, and stress is our constant companion, people are more prone to chronic diseases and nutritional deficiencies. Modern medicines may help only temporarily whereas nutraceuticals provide essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals and help the body to overcome illnesses and stay healthy – all the way. OPOA, which is rich in calcium, magnesium as well as Vitamin D (which is essential for absorption of calcium) helps to strengthen bones and its mineral composition further assists in improving bone density.
